Night to Shine

We first heard about this charity event a month or so before it was going to happen through a request put out in a photography community.  It sounded interesting so we volunteered to help out.

Night to Shine is a prom-like event with games, rides, karaoke, and other fun activities for people with special needs.  It was started by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2015, it can now be found in all 50 states, and has become an international event.  Tucson is lucky enough to be one of the hosting cities.

We were super excited to be a part of this, especially since we were asked to photograph the train, rickshaw, and limo rides.  Even though shooting outside in the dark would provide a challenge, it sounded very fun!

When the day of the event came, we were in for a surprise.  It decided to pour down rain on us.

While The Gumdrop Princess was outside in the cold and rain giving presents to the rickshaw riders, she never once complained about it and made sure every guest saw her smiling and felt special!  Her father was involved in the rickshaw team , and she had been doing this for several years at this point.

Even in the wet and cold night we had a ton of fun with the guests!  There was a great energy that evening as all the guests were having a blast.

The night finished with a large gathering in the main room where Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh Tebow gave a talk.  All the guests are then crowned the kings and queens of the night.

We had a bunch of super fun pictures, but Night to Shine requested that images not be shared due to the guests having special needs.  The few images we did share we ensured either did not have people in them, or we had permission to share from those in the picture.
